Taft "Sonny" Whitehead, Jr., 67, of Chattanooga, TN, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013 at a local health facility.
Taft was preceded in death by his parents, Taft and Etta Whitehead and his daughter Kimberly.
Survivors: sons, Terry Lebron Patterson, Mark (Donna) Whitehead, Carlton Whitehead, of Chattanooga, TN, Reginald Pittman, of Bay Point, CA. daughters, Erica and Traci Whitehead, of Chattanooga, TN, and LaToya (Robert) Walters, of Harrison, TN; sisters, Veverly Fitch, Diane (Kenneth) Sutton, of Chattanooga, TN; brothers, Leroy (Charlotte) Fitch, James (Jonett) Fitch, of Chattanooga, TN; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Bullard and other ministers officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
The body will lie in state today from Noon until 7 p.m.
The family will assemble at the funeral home for all the services.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made in his name to Hospice of Chattanooga, TN.
Arrangements are entrusted to Advantage Funeral Cremation Services Franklin Strickland Pinkard Bryan Smith Funeral Directors 1724 McCallie Avenue, Chattanooga, TN.
