Hannah Henton was the daughter of George and Persis Henton and the first wife of Josiah Boone Sr., a first cousin of Daniel Boone, the famous frontiersman.

The following information was submitted by Emma Winegarner, a Boone descendant who has researched many of the descendants of George Boone II and Sarah Uppey:

Hannah Henton was born about 1725/26 probably in Oley Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania to George and Persis Henton.

Hannah's father, George, died in 1747. Named in his will were his wife Percis, along with his daughter, Hannah, and her other siblings: George, Thomas, John, Joseph, Robert, William, Catherine, Alice, and Ruth.

At the early Pennsylvania town of Molatton, the following were baptised on September 4, 1748 by Pastor Henry Melchoir Muhlenberg, a traveling Swedish-Lutheran minister: William Hopkins, unmarried; Ruth Jones, wife of Peter Jones; Hannah Hanton, unmarried; and Amy Allison, married. A footnote tells us that Hannah and Ruth Jones were sisters and that their mother was a Quaker.

Hannah married Josiah Boone on 30 June 1750 in Amity Township, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. They are thought to have been married at St. Gabriel's. St. Gabriel's was founded in 1720 as a Swedish-Lutheran Church. St. Gabriel's joined the Church of England in 1760. Today this church is known as St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church. It is located in Douglasville, Amity Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania. In the early days Douglasville was known as Malotten. In 1752, Amity Township became part of Berks County.

Hannah and Josiah were to have at least four children: George, Josiah, Jeremiah, and Ruhemah.

By 1764 Josiah had moved his family to Chester County, Pennsylvania. Hannah died here in 1766.
