Captain of Company "D", 150th Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He originally enlisted with the 4th Pennsylvania Infantry, on 20 Apr 1861, was discharged on 27 Jul 1861. He re-enlisted, from Union County, PA in the 150th, on 29 Aug 1862, was mortally wounded in the Battle of the Wilderness and died 22 days later on 24 May 1864.
