Jessie Voetberg, 83, died Monday, December 12, 2005 at Valley Manor, Rock Valley.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley.
Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Reverend Dan De Groot will officiate.
Visitation will be Thursday with the family present from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. Jessie was born May 11, 1922 to Adolph and Alice (Tamminga) Eshuis in Ireton, IA and grew up in the Ireton-Sioux Center area.
Jessie was united in marriage to Ben Voetberg on June 28, 1949 in Sioux Center.
Together they lived in Rock Valley.
Ben owned Voetberg Plumbing and Heating until his death on April 11, 1972.
Jessie worked at Harvard Industries as a custodian for many years.
She was a Foster Grandparent for several years. A job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was a faithful friend to many who were shut in for as long as she was able to drive.
Jessie was a devoted wife and mother. She moved to the Valley Manor October 19, 2005.
Survivors include: daughter, Marva (Duane) Haak of Rock Valley; sons: Harv (Dee) Voetberg of Rock Valley, Marlo (June) Voetberg of Marcus, IA and Bryan (Donna) Voetberg of Magnolia, MN; 8 grandsons; 4 granddaughters; 4 great-grandsons; 4great-granddaughters; brothers: Adolph (Dorothy) Eshuis of Rock Valley and Cork (Shirley) Eshuis of Orange City, IA; sisters: Etta (Jim) Driesen of Rock Valley and Margene (Jim) Kooima of Sioux Falls, SD; brother-in-law, Ron (Mary) Koldenhoven of Rock Valley; sisters-in-law: Grace Voetberg and Helen Scholten both of Rock Valley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Alice; step-mother, Martha Eshuis; husband, Ben; granddaughter, Sheila Voetberg; sisters: Alice Vis, Frieda De Haas, Anna Mae Bruinsma and Geraldine Koldenhoven.
