Sophia Warner
Wife of former Kansas City Mayor, Major William Warner and sister to former mayor, Thomas Bullene. Sophia was in Lawrence, Kansas at the home of her other brother, Lathrop Bullene and his wife, Susan, when Quantrill's raid occurred. Sophia and Susan were at the home when some of the Quantrill men burst into the home and demanded to be fed. Reluctantly, the women fed the men during the raid. The Bullene home was spared because of their hospitality. the Bullenes were reportedly eaten out of house and home.

District of Columbia, Select Deaths and Burials, 1840-1964 has death date of 6 February 1923 in Washington,D.C. Also various sources list birthplace as Albany, New York.
