Evelyn Etta Kindrew, 89, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, Sept. 21, 2011, at the Golden Living Center, Stroud, East Stroudsburg. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Kindrew who passed June 2, 2006.

Born Aug. 26, 1922, in Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County, she was the daughter of the late Durling and Alice (Stettler) Ace. She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

Evelyn is a member of East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, East Stroudsburg.

Prior to her retirement she worked at Pleasant Valley Manor, Hamilton Township, and prior to that worked at several blouse factories in the area.

Evelyn is survived by her granddaughter, Mary Beth Kindrew of Scranton; her grandson, Robert Kindrew of Stroudsburg; her daughter-in-law, Rose Kindrew of Stroudsburg; and great-granddaughter, Chloe. She is also survived by her two sisters, Mary Frantz and her husband, Alfred, of East Stroudsburg, and Berneda VanWhy of East Stroudsburg; her two brothers, Harold Ace and his wife, Sara Mae, of Bushkill and Kenneth Ace and his wife, Margaret, of Stroudsburg; and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was predeceased by her son, Randy R. Kindrew on Feb. 20, 2007; two sisters, Janet Schouppe and Iva Hineline; and four brothers, Clarence, Durling Jr., Richard and Robert Ace.
