Mrs. Jennie R. Blevins

HARLANSBURG – Mrs. Jennie Rosanna Blevins, 93, of Slippery Rock RD 3, died at the home of a nephew, Clifford McKissick, at 10 p.m. Wednesday after an extended illness. She was born in Scott Township, Lawrence County, on Dec. 11, 1881, to the late James and Mary Gilfillan McKissick. She was formerly employed as a housekeeper. Mrs. Blevins was a member of North Plain Grove United Presbyterian Church and the Missionary Society of the church. She was a member of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. She married William Blevins in October of 1909 and he died in 1916. Her only survivors are a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Gill McKissick. Friends will be received at the Joseph W. Boyd Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Richard Knodel of the church. Burial will be in North Plain Grove United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
