ARNOLD TOLLETT
Arnold Tollett, 64, of Elyria, OH, passed away Sept. 17, 2000. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. at Reichlin-Roberts Funeral Home in Elyria, with Dr. Peter Mealwitz officiating. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1079.
Mr. Tollett was born Nov. 13, 1935, in Crossville, the son of Beecher and Della Marie Tollett, and lived in Elyria most of his life.
He was the founder and owner of Northwest Vending since 1972. He received an associate degree in mechanical engineering from Elyria Business College. He served in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #12; the Elyria Elks Lodge #465; Elyria Moose Club; Elyria Rotary, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow; Spring Valley Country Club; Lorain County Chamber of Commerce; and past president and board member of the Ohio Automatic Merchandising Association. He was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop #150 in Elyria, and was named the St. Agnes Catholic Church Holy Name Society Man of the Year and Lorain County Democratic Party Man of the Year in 1978. He was a member of the Lorain County Democratic Executive Committee, and served as an Elyria city councilman in the second ward for two terms. He was the safety-service director under Mayor Michael Keys from 1986 to 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Anita Hunt Tollett of Elyria; sons, David Tollett and Phil Tollett, both of Elyria; daughters, Rose Boesger, Patricia McConnell and Candace Tollett, all of Elyria; stepsons, Breck Willbond of Phoenix, AZ, and Todd Willbond of Oberlin, OH; sisters, Della Mae Norris and Louise Driver, both of Crossville, Ruth McIe of North Ridgeville, OH, and Patsy York of Richmond, KY; and a brother, Phil Tollett of Crossville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beecher and Della Marie Tollett; brothers, Frank Tollett, Hubert Tollett and Otis Tollett, and a sister, Phylis Tollett.
