When Norman Henry Hite left his wife Mary, he told her he was going to visit family in Ohio. He never returned. Leaving her to raise their young son John Robert HITE.

When Norman Henry Hite went into the military he went in as Jack Ramsey; and left his life as Norman Henry Hite behind. He never tried or attempted to contact Mary to find out if she filed for divorce; meaning they were still married when he married his second wife. I have seen no documentation showing he divorced his first wife to marry his second wife Barbara.
