CHARLES J. BENNER
Charles J. Benner, tire dealer, died at his home, 136 Coe Street, Thursday at 8:45 p.m. Death came after an illness of nearly three months with cancer of the stomach, says the Tiffin Advertiser.
He was born in Sandusky, May 14, 1857, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Benner. June 5, 1883, he was united in marriage to Miss Susan Seifert who survives him. Eight years after their marriage, they moved to this county and resided on a farm five miles south of the city for sixteen years. They then moved to this city, where they resided for the past fifteen years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by seven children: George, Vincent, Albert, Martin, and Jerome, all residing in or near the city; Mrs. Theodore Reinhart, of Carey; and John, of Toledo. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of St. Joseph's church. The funeral will be held at St. Joseph's church Monday at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mr. Benner also leaves seven brothers and sisters, namely: Mrs. Henry Kromer, of Carey; Mrs. Nicholas Seifert, of southeast of town; Mrs. Rosie Courtad, of Cleveland; Mrs. Joseph Weinandy, of northeast of town; Louis, Frank and Miss Mary Benner, of North Eighth street.
