Obituary for Ruth Carter

Mrs. Ruth Thacker Carter, 88, of Cartersville, died Monday, March 4, 2013 at the home of her grandson.

Born April 10, 1924 in Rome, she was a daughter of the late Warren Thacker and the late Lillie Byers Thacker. Mrs. Carter was a member of the Church at Liberty Square and was retired from Goodyear. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Marion Thacker, Clarie Green, Jessie Thacker, Pearl Kelly, Lloyd Thacker, W. T. Thacker, and Henry Thacker; and her ex-husband, Emmitt Carter.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Ray of Cartersville, and Carol Anderson and her husband Daniel of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Gregory Davies, Kimberly Jones, Marsha Siniard, Mark Siniard, and Michael Siniard; great-grandchildren, Stephen Davies, Derrick Howren, Victoria McEver, Ashley Thomas, Daylan Jones, Christina Siniard, Michael Siniard, Samantha Siniard, Josie Siniard, and Brittany Allen; great-great-grandchildren, Cameron Howren, Carson Howren, Felicia Howren, Derrick Howren, Jr., and Luscious Allen; and a special niece, Sandra Thacker Springfield.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home with The Reverend Dr. Jacob T. King officiating. Interment will follow in Millers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.
