Mrs. Pearl Thacker Kelley

Mrs. Pearl Thacker Kelley age 75 of 402 N. Elm Street Rome died Friday afternoon at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Kelley was born in Bartow County on November 11, 1917 daughter of the late Warren and Lillie Byars Thacker. She was retired from the Anchor Rome Mills where she was employed for some 46 years. She was a member of the Rome Central Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Rayford Kelley to whom she was married on May 17, 1936, a daughter, Mrs. Almagene (Gennie) Cagle, Rome, a son, Charles Kelley, Rome, 2 sisters, Mrs. Clara Green, Rome and Mrs. Ruth Carter, Cartersville, 2 brothers, Lloyd Thacker and W. T. Thacker both of Cartersville, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Rome Central Church of God with the Pastor the Rev. Elgin Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot in Floyd Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home this afternoon from 4 until 6 p.m., at other hours they will be at the residence.

The body will lie in state at the Rome Central Church of God on Monday from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. Pallbearers are requested to meet at the church on Monday at 1:45 p.m. and include Michael Kelley, Mark Kelley, David Kelley, Junior Thacker, Harold Thacker, Wayne Thacker, Charles Green and Joe Green.

Henderson & Sons Funeral Home has charge of the funeral arrangements.
