Born Nov.9, 1906 near Cheyenne to Blanche Louise (Parrish) and Dink Robinson McBride, she and her family lived on a government claim.
She attended grade school at Berlin and high school at Berlin and Briton, later attending junior college at Elk City and graduating from highlands University with a degree in education and biology.
Aug. 12, 1930 she married Rueben Marvin (Jack) Bryan in Liberal, KS and she began her career in education, teaching in many country schools including Keyes, Kenton, Felt, Yarbrough, Hooker and Guymon.
She was kindergarten teacher in Hooker 1965-1970 and taught for more than 30 years, taking time out in the middle of her career to raise her sons.
An active member of the First Baptist Church in Guymon, she was also active in Delta Kappa Gamma Education Sorority.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Jack Bryan; three sons, Jack Boyd Bryan and his wife, Sharon of Duncanville, TX, David Robert "Bob" Bryan and his wife, Mary Lou of Ponca City and Pat Marvin Bryan and his wife, Connie of Edmond; two granddaughters, Katie Bryan and Shawna Loyd and her husband, Don; three grandsons, Ken Bryan and his wife, Beth, Scott Bryan and Steve Bryan and his wife, Dawn; two great granddaughters; four great grandsons; nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are one sister, one brother and one infant son, Donald Charles Bryan.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Goss of Forgan and Rev. Chris Trent, youth minister, officiating."
