A graveside committal will be held for Carl Nelson, 95, of Coos Bay at 1 p.m. Friday, March 8, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 63060 Millington Frontage Road in Coos Bay, with pastor Ray Pound presiding. A celebration of life memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at the Coos Bay Eagles Lodge, 568 S. Second St.

Carl was born Sept. 7, 1917, in Sweetwater, Texas to Henery G. Nelson and Maddie M. (Blake) Nelson. He passed away peacefully March 2, 2013, in North Bend.

Carl was a carpenter, millworker and rancher. He and his late wife, Maggie, enjoyed their ranch life and a host of friends in Powers.

Carl is survived by daughter, Jean Wilson; son, Carl Nelson; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Lou in 2005; son, Grady Nelson; daughter Mary Lou Munyon; and his parents, Henery and Maddie Nelson.
