Born-July 13, 1899, Scotland, South Dakota. In 1908 moved with the family to St. Cloud, Minnesota. His father was killed at the train yard there, when he was 11 years old. Soon after when his half Bro. Chris started the Hauck Coal & Supply business, he went to work for him. Working there for a number of years as a truck driver delivery work. He is remembered by the family as the ice delivery man. This was mostly during the depression years.

Married-August 1st. 1936, Myrtle Bolz, b. October 5, 1915 at Minden, Minnesota, the daughter of German born, Jacob & Amanda (Bussee) Bolz. The family remained in St. Cloud, Minnesota until there three children were born. During the remaining war years Emil moved his family to Illinois where he worked at a defense plant.

In 1950 the family moved to Anaconda, Montana, where he worked for the B.A.& P. railroad, as a car repairman. Retired in 1960's and lived at Elkhorn, MT. for seven years, then moved back to Anaconda. Emil died on December 30, 1972 and burial was at Anaconda, Montana.
