Erastus and siblings relocated to Lee County, Illinois with the Town family where he bought land Jun 9, 1845 under the Illinois Public Domain Land Act. Erastus married Jane Ross Oct 6, 1844 in Brooklyn, Lee County, Illinois by John K. Robinson Justice of the Peace. The married couple had four daughters.
