Harold William Harmon,76, of Braytown Road, near Vevay, passed away Monday, July 10th, at Kings Daughters Hospital in Madison.
He was born August 4th, 1923, in Trimble County, Kentucky, the son of William Henderson and Rilla Louise (Stockdale) Harmon. He was a farmer who enjoyed working with his horses and fox hounds. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II
On February 19th, 1949, he married Audrey R. Jester, who survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Sharon Roark of Madison, Judy Bailey and husband Jack of Vevay and Diane Brown and husband Denny, all of Vevay; his son, Charles Harmon and wife Valerie of Madison; his grandchildren, Dustin, Angie, Michelle, Micheal, Andrew, Shawn, Casie, Amanda, Kara, Krystal and Jessica; his Great-Grandchildren, Jalen, Devin and Trenton; his sister, Gertrude Banta of Madison; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Nelson Wayne Harmon and Harold William Harmon; his Great- Grandchild, Caitlin McKenzie Roark; his brothers, Earl, Forrest and Chester Harmon; and his sisters, Dorothy Leatherbury, Josephine Harmon, Myrtle "Tootsie" Carter, Mabel Reed, and Mary Cummins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today(Thursday) by Brother Joe McKay at Haskell and Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery with full military rites conducted at the graveside b Vevay American Legion Post 185 and Vevay VFW Post 5396. Memorial contributions may be may to the Switzerland County Emergency Unit.
