Funeral services for Samuel A. Pergola, 78, of 202 Pershing Blvd., will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. in the Gallman Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be sung at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Millmont. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale.
Pergola died Sunday morning in the St. Joseph Hospital, where he had been a patient since Friday.
Born in Hazleton, he was a son of the late Rocco and Theresa (Cardetta) Pergola.
Pergola had owned and operated the Parkway Grill, Hollywood, Calif., for 20 years before retiring 15 years ago.
He was an Army veteran of world War II.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille R. (Contini) Pergola; and a daughter, Theresa A., at home.
Five brothers: Nicholas, Joseph and Daniel, all of reading; Carl, Glendale, Calif., and John, Waltham, Mass.
Also three sisters: Carmela, wife of Leroy Kulp, Kenhorst; and Ann, widow of Frank Kosmoski, and Elizabeth, wife of John Howresko, both of Reading.


Married first wife, Gertrude Florence Folk, in 1925 and was divorced in 1934.

Married second wife, Lucille R Contini, in 1960.
