FUNERAL SERVICES HELD AT WORTHAM FOR J. VERNI LEE
Wortham (spl)__ Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist Church in Wortham at 2 oclock Tuesday afternoon for J. Verni Lee, 81, who died at his home in Wortham this morning.
The service will be conducted by the Rev. Verne Fuqua, Pastor of the First Methodist Church. And burial will be in the Wortham City Cemetery with the Walker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lee was born near Wortham in Freestone County on March 19, 1880 and lived in and around Wortham all of his life. He was a retired farmer, rancher and contractor and was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Bessie Lee, he is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. O.A. Bounds of Houston; one son, Clyde V. Lee of West Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. L.M. Irvin and Mrs. W.A. Loveless, both of Wortham, and Mrs. R.L. Tucker of Austin; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
