Josephine Bull, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. S. Bull was born near Branson. November 3, 1898, and died at her home near Oak Grove School, March 22, 1938. Josephine graduated from Branson high. She taught in rurals schools for several years before she was united in marriage to Lonnie Layton, August 13, 1925. Two children were born to this union: Bobby 10, and Carlene 8. She had been a member of the Baptist church for a number of years.
Funeral services were held at Oak Grove school building, Thursday afternoon, March 24. with the Rev. Troy Compton and Rev. Eli Shahan is charge of the service. Burial was made in the Whorton cemetery.
She leaves besides her husband and children, her parents, six sisters: Mrs. Grace Karber of Kansas City, Mrs. Pearl Van Laningham of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Maggie Boswell, Mrs. Etta Rowland, and Mrs. Anna Whorton all of Branson, and Mrs. Sarah Allen of Kirbyville; and three brothers, George of Lansing, Kansas, Charlie of Kansas City, Kansas, and Millard of Branson.
