PHILIP E. ROERTY, CRNJ YARDMASTER
Philip E. Roerty, 75, of 521 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, died this morning at his home. Dr. Herman Smith, deputy Warren County medical examiner, pronounced him dead of natural causes.

Born in Glendon, a son of the late Owen and Margaret McDevitt Roerty, he lived in Phillipsburg most of his life.

Mr. Roerty was a retired yardmaster for the Central Railroad of New Jersey. He retired in 1958 after more than 45 years service with the railroad.

He was a member of Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Chapter, Phillipsburg; Jersey Hose Fire Co., YMIA Club, Phillipsburg; Order of Fleas and the Jacksonian Democratic Club, both Easton, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

Survivors include his widow, the former Virginia McIntosh; two sons, John P., Shimer Manor, and Eugene F., Phillipsburg; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Wagner, Phillipsburg; a sister, Mrs. Helen Caton, Phillipsburg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Monday at the Doyle Funeral Home, followed by a Requiem High Mass at 9 a.m. in Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church.

A Requiem High Mass for Philip E. Roerty, 521 S. Main St., Phillipsburg, who died Friday at his home, was celebrated this morning in Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church.

The Very Ven. Joseph V. Kozak was the celebrant. Interment was in Sts. Philip and James Cemetery. Pallbearers were Edward and Francis Roerty, Charles McFadden, Edward Korp, Andrew Tumulty and John Travers.

The funeral was conducted from the Doyle Funeral Home, Phillipsburg.
