The Grubb fammily crossed the plains on the South Emigrant road in 1852 and settled in the Rogue River valley in Jackson county.
GRUBB - At the home of Henry Applegate, on Dead Indian road east of Ashland, December 28, 1891, Mrs. Elizabeth Grubb, wife of the late Samuel Grubb, aged 70 years and 9 months. (The funeral was on Wednesday afternoon from the home of her son , John L. Grubb, near Ashland was buried in Ashland Cemetery. Rev. F.G. Grange officiating. Mrs. Grubb was one of the estimable pioneer women of Southern Oregon, widely known in the days of early settlement, and a fitting memorial sketch will appear in the Tidings hereafter.) December 1891
