Walter Burant, Sr., age 70, a life-long resident of the Town of Sharon, passed away on 19 Nov 1968, at St. Michael's Hospital. Mr. Burant entered the hospital on 4 Nov 1968 when he was involved in a power grain elevator farming accident.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Burant, he was born on June 23, 1898, in Sharon.
He was married on 21 Jun 1920 to Regina Weronke at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Polonia. After their marriage the couple located on the Burant homestead where they farmed until retirement 7 years ago. Since then they have lived in Polonia.
Mr. Burant was active in the Madison School District in Sharon for many years before his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, three sons, Ted, Sharon; Nick Burant on the family farm in Sharon; and Walter Burant, Jr., Rothschild; four daughters, Mrs. Anton (Harriet) Domaszek, Town of New Hope; Mrs. Dennis (Florence) Simonis, Wellsboro, PA; Mrs. Claude (Bernice) Skibba, Sharon; and Mrs. Henry (Janet) Chojnacki, Stevens Point; a brother, Leo Burant, King; and 29 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and his parents.
Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Polonia. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Dzikowski Funeral Home. St. Isadore's Society and the Holy Name Society of the Polonia Church, of which Mr. Burant was a member, joined for the rosary.
