Alpha Jane Kluver was born in Carlos, Minnesota, on April 21, 1930, the daughter of Alfred and Clara (Schulke) Anderson. She attended rural schools and grew to womanhood in that area.

On April 10, 1948, Alpha was united in marriage to Reuben Kluver. The couple farmed on the shore of Lake Irene for about six years. At this time they were active members of the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Miltona. The couple then moved to Minneapolis where they continued to live until Reuben's death in 1988. Following Reuben's death, Alpha moved to Alexandria where she had lived in the Towne Square Apartments at the Alexandria Senior Community Center. Following a short illness, Alpha died on Monday, May 21, 2001, at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 71 years.

She is survived by her sons: Melvin (Butch) Kluver of Alexandria and Wayne Kluver of Belle Plaine. Also surviving are her brothers Raymond Anderson of Alexandria and Gordon Anderson of the Twin Cities, sister June Wollin of Alexandria, grandchildren: John Kluver, Sean Kluver, Tonya Kluver, and Lance Kluver and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, May 24, 2001 from the Anderson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Terry Finnern officiating. Interment was in the Hudson Cemetery, rural Alexandria. Pallbearers were Ron Lade, Tony Lowe, Ross Laney and Joe Drew.

Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, Minnesota.
