Barbara Lynn Yates Acord Johnson

Early Life: Barbara was born on May 11, 1927, to Joseph Daniel "Dan" and Imogene Word Yates, in Yuma, Arizona.

Life's Work | Service | Interests: On January 24, 1951, she married Abram Max Acord; they were later sealed to their family in the Los Angeles Temple on August 27, 1958. She moved with her family to Provo, Utah, in 1964. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Barbara held many callings throughout her life. She worked at Brigham Young University in the Physical Plant as a secretary until her retirement. Barbara loved to travel and visited many countries with her friends. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, sewing and doing genealogy. Beloved mother, Barbara Lynn Yates Acord Johnson passed away February 21, 2013, in Provo, Utah, following a long illness. She was 85.

Family Message: There is a quote that says "God's finger touched her and she slept." We love you Mom and will miss you every day until we meet again."

Survived By: Her children: Cheryl Guymon, of Springville; Karen (Windy) Kiggins, of Pleasant Grove; Lynn (Pete) Dixon, of Payson; and Craig (Madgy) Acord, of Payson; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-children.

Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Abram Max Acord; her parents; two brothers, Lindsay and Glenn; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
