Dorothy A. Barrett, 99, of R.R. 3, Troy, formerly of Daggett, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at the Bradford County Manor. She was born Aug. 29, 1902, in Mountain Lake, the daughter of Earl and Mertie Jennings Alexander. She and her late husband, Lloyd Barrett, owned and operated a dairy farm in the Mountain Lake area, then the Daggett area. She was a former member of the Mountain Lake Gun Club. She is survived by her children, Earl Barrett of Okeechobee, Fla., Myrtle Wandell of Athens, Nina (Robert) Barber of Montour Falls, N.Y., Doris Williams of Clifton Springs, N.Y., Lloyd Barrett Jr. of Troy and Fred Barrett of Columbia Cross Roads; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Maude Grisland of Troy; special friend, Louise Comfort; and several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by two sons, Howard and Dwayne Barrett; three sisters, Mira Garland, Lora Slater and Gladys Cole; and two brothers, Durand and Claude Alexander. Family and friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Lowery Funeral Home, 225 S. Main St., Athens. Funeral services will immediately follow there, with the Rev. Donald Anderson, pastor of the Athens United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain Lake Cemetery, Burlington.
