A number of useful citizens residing in and about Atlanta were called from their labors by the grim reaper during 1856. Addison Dulin, a bachelor, was born in Mecklingburg County, North Carolina, and came to Atlanta in 1846. He began buying cotton upon his arrival and became a leading merchant of the town. He died in May, 1856, at the early age of 33, and is buried in Oakland Cemetery.
