"Services Held For Mrs. Kate McClain

Funeral services for Mrs. Kate McClain widow of the late Dr. W L McClain, were held at the Stewart Funeral Home at 10:30 Wednesday morning, Jan 13th with the Rev. Kenneth Thompson, pastor of the Scottsburg Methodist Church conducting the services.

Mrs. McClain was the daughter of William and Adaline Crosby Cravens, pioneer citizens of Scott County and had spent her life in Scott County.

She died Jan 10th at her home 90 South Second St. Scottsburg as a result of a heart condition from which she had suffered for more then three years. She would have been 86 years old on Tuesday, December 12th.

A life long member of the Scottsburg Methodist church she was also active in former years in the Woman's Civil League and other civic activities.

The couple had no children and her nearest surviving relative is her sister Mrs. Flora M Fardner, who has been living with her in recent months.

Interment was at the Scottsburg cemetery."
