He was the son of Dr. Richard and Docia (Palmore) Wade. He came to Missouri as a young man and Patented 120 acres of land from the government, in section six, Tebo twp., Henry County.

He was married in 1848 to Nancy Jane Casey. In 1850 census they were listed; Charles age 38, b-Ky., farmer, real estate value at $500.00; Nancy J. age 22, b Ky., F. Columbus age 2,b-Mo., Sarah F. age 1, b-Ky.

This marriage ended in divorce in 1855 because Nancy bore another mans child. She took the children and went to Illinois. These facts were sworn to by William & Sarah, his children, in court papers of his estate and the estate papers of his brother, Fendell.

He was a farmer and a carpenter. He worked and lived in Henry county until his death. His last days were spent in the home of his sister, Nancy, and was cared for by her through his last sickness.

His sister, Nancy, was the administrator of his estate. She gave proof of ordering a headstone for him and entered a bill for it.

His son, Frank, died in the Civil War. His estate papers show his only heirs to be, daughter Sarah Lytle and son William both of Illinois.

Charles was the father of three children;

2.Sarah Estella b-18 July 1849, m-Feb.1866, Daniel Lytle, Pike Co.,Ill., d-28 Jan 1903, Christian Co.,Ill.

3.William Pleasant b-9 Sept 1852, m-17 Apr 1878, Mary Shaw, 14 Dec 1927, Christian Co.,Illinois
