Eleazer Hovey, a pioneer resident of this county, died at his home in Darlington Sunday evening, May 16, 1915, aged 85 years. Mr. Hovey was born in Thetford, Vermont, June 8, 1829, and came to Wisconsin in 1848. He engaged in successful farming for many years and then retired; and moved to this city. He was united in marriage to Miss Clara A. Scofield in 1855, who with one son, Harry, survive.
The funeral was held from the home on Wednesday and burial made in Union Grove cemetery.

Eleazer Hovey, farmer, Sec. 20; P.O. Darlington; is a native of Vermont, and was born in the town of Thetford June 8, 1829; he grew up there and in New Hampshire; he came with his parents to Wisconsin in 1848, and settled in La Fayette Co, the same year; they were early settlers. Mr. Hovey has been successfully engaged in farming many years; he owns 215 acres of land. In 1855, Mr Hovey was united in marriage to Miss Clara A. Scofield, a native of Vermont; they have one son-Harry S.
