In the 1860 Federal Census, Sarah Jane Montgomery (102); Talitha Jane Nelson (82) and Jane Nelson Bailey (30) comprised three generations of the same family living in the household of Booker Bailey. Talitha was Jane Nelson Bailey's mother and Sarah Montgomery was her grandmother.
Sarah Montgomery died in 1862 at the age of 104 and Talitha died in 1865 the closing year of the American Civil War. She was 87.
