Edith M. Mitchell
Edith Mae Rawlings Mitchell, 88, of 158 West Leestown Road, Midway, widow of Leslie J. Mitchell Sr., died Friday November 17, 2000 at the Owen County Memorial Hospital, Owenton.
She was born in Franklin County,she was the daughter of the late Ezekiel and Callie Metts Rawlings. She attended Eastern Kentucky State Teachers College and was a member of the Midway Baptist Church.
She is survived by five daughters, Marilyn Rignney, Margie Atwood, and Beverly Toy, all of Midway; Donna Ashley, Versailles and Kathy Mabry, Crittenden; four sons ,Edward Mitchell, Leslie Mitchell Jr., Warren E. Mitchell, and Larry Mitchell, all of Midway; a brother Paul Rawlings, Harrodsburg; 19 grandchildren, 16 stepgrandchilderen,17 great-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren.
Servics were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday Nov.20, at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home, Versailles, by the Rev. Mark Johnson. Interment was in the Midway Cemetery. Casket bearers were Mike Mabry, Gene Rigney, Gene Atwood, Dean Ashley, Sammy Riddle, and Mike Niedwick. Honorary bearers were Ronaly Toy, Spencer Wall, Jimmy Gaunce, June Gaunce, Foger Gabbard, James Charas, and Matthew Bishop.
