TREME FUNERAL SCHEDULED TODAY
Funeral services for Arthur Treme, 35 years old, a former new Orleanian who was employed in Detroit, Mich., at the time of his death, reportedly due to a beating administered by two of his brothers, are to be held at 2:30 p.m. today from the parlors of L. A. Muhleisen and Son, 1825 Dryades street, with interment in Metairie cemetery.
Treme's body accompanied by his young widow, the former Miss Leslie Roth of New Orleans, arrived here Sunday morning. He was beaten and kicked for an hour and a half by his brothers, Joseph and Frank Treme, and left to die Thursday on the floor of his home at St. Clair Shores, Detroit, according to his widow. He died that night.
Vincent L. Fitzgerald, assistant prosecutor in Detroit, announced he intended asking that first-degree murder warrants be sworn out against the brothers. The men said they beat their brother because he "spread false stories about them," according to Detroit dispatches.
Besides his two brothers, Joseph and Frank Treme, and his widow, the dead man, who was employed by an automobile factory in Detroit, is survived by three other brothers, Russell, Louis and Peter Treme, and five sisters, Mrs. Andrew Fournier, Mrs. Simon Estapa, Mrs. Robert Cullen, Mrs. Louise Lytell and Mrs. Josephine Lee. His widow is staying with a sister, Mrs. Otto Gerbrecht, 3139 St. Thomas street.
