He was a native of Historic James City and a member of Pilgrim Chapel M. B. Church. He was a retiree from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and co-Guinness World Recordholder.
His funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Pilgrim Chapel M. B. Church with the Rev. Joseph Winbush, Pastor, officiating. The interment will follow in the Meadows Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 86 years, Zelmyra G. Fisher of the home; two sons, Franklin I. Fisher of New Bern and Herbert Fisher, Jr. of Walla Walla, WA; two daughters, Norma F. Godette of New Bern and husband, Benjamin and Ludie B. Baker and husband, Wilbert of Washington, DC; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
