Lester Hall, 82, of Bedford, died at 8:45 p.m. on Monday at Indiana University Health Bedford Hospital.

Born Nov. 12, 1930, in Bedford, he was the son of William Arthur and Emma Bell (Schofield) Hall. He married Anna Jane Baker in 1950 and she preceded him in death in 1972. He later married Anna Lee Chadwell (Nikirk) in 1973 and she also preceded him in death in 2003.

He retired from General Motors where he worked as a skilled tradesman in the layout department. He was a life-time member of the Dive Christian Church, a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Ann Tolliver and husband Jerry of Bedford; a stepdaughter, Deborah Underwood and husband Jim of Springville; two stepsons, Terry Nikirk and wife Brenda of Baytown, Texas, and Gregory Nikirk of Bedford; grandchildren, Pamela Dawn (Tolliver) Abel, April Diane Tolliver, Christopher Nikirk, Mark Nikirk, Jason Nikirk, Chad Nikirk, Jeremy Nikirk, Cami Nikirk, Angel Chastain, Stacie (Bouffanie) Clark, Benjamin Underwood and Chad Underwood; 18 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence Hall of Bedford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; three brothers, Everett, Lawrence and Howard Hall; seven sisters, Helen Baker, Ethel Miller, Edith Housier, Clara Raborn, Wilma June Armstrong, Gladys Hall, and Altha Hall (in infancy); and a great-granddaughter, Susanna Day Nikirk.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Dive Christian Church with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Springville Christian Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from noon until the service on Friday at the church.
