John Gray "Pinky" Addison, Sr., 82, of Union, SC, husband of Frances (Tucker) Addison, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

Born in Union on October 4, 1922, he was a son of the late James Harley Addison, Sr. and Floy (Gilbert) Addison.

A member of Morningside Baptist Church, Mr. Addison was a decorated disabled World War II Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and receiving the Purple Heart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, John G. Addison, Jr. of Union; two daughters, Janice Addison Wilson of Lexington and Kathy Addison Derrick of Little Mountain; a sister, Bobbie Jean Cathcart of Gary, NC; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, at the S. R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens with full military rites. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to the Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 112 Bates Avenue, Union, SC 29379.
