Hagerstown, Md., Aug 28. - Mr. William H. Beard, Sr., died this morning at Williamsport, aged seventy-four years. Four years ago, he was appointed court bailiff by Judge Edward Stake. He was born near Clear Spring and married Miss Byers. His surviving children are Rev. M. L. Beard, of Middletown, Md., Mr. William H. Beard, Jr., traveling salesman for Jones & South, Hagerstown, Mrs. J. M. Miller, of Williamsport, and Mr. John Beard, a farmer, near Williamsport.
