Joan worked many years at her husband's drug store, the Louisa Drug Company, making her famous chicken salad and scooping ice cream. Sfter the drug store closed, she opened her home as a daycare and cared for more than 50 children over the years.
She is survived by four children, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two sisters.
