I first met Scamper as a blind kitten under an apt building with his 3 brothers and sisters.. He was born a stray kitten to a stray feral mother.. The mother was scared off by some local children and I took in the kittens. All attempts at locateing mom were unsucessful.. His brothers and sisters died of distemper after a few short days and even though we were told the same would happpen to Scamper, he did not give up so easily..
Scamper was a fighter..It was as if the spirit of his brothers and sisters were with him somehow.. He had the fight of all of them put together.. He was hand rasied and hand fed with an eye dropper untill he was old enough to steal the food from the other cats bowls..

Scamper got his name because he used to run all around our apts and chase our existing cat Pouncequick.. He was a fast cat and was very smart.. We took a cat IQ test for him and he was in the top 7 percent.. Scamper lived a good life and was always accepting of new friends of both cat and human alike.. His best buddies were Teddy Bear and Pouncequick, who were also stray/orphans..

Scamper most favorite things to do included head buntings, playing fetch, playing tag, playing chase and guessing which hand the treat or toy was in, which he always won.. His favorite human treat was cheese bits..
He used to love to wander around under my feet and supervise my gardening.. He was good at keeping the catnip bush trimmed. He was also an avid sun worshipper..
Scamper always loved hillsongs music.

Today we had to put or beloved Scamper down.. He has been suffering for years with Kidney failure and all the gross symptoms to go along with it...( He was 19 years old ).. He was very loved and cared for here at our home, treated like a child and spend years laying on a heating pad due to the aweful Kidney problem he had he couldnt keep warm .. Even though we knew his time was comeing soon it still breaks our hearts... We love all our cats here as if they were our children, they are cared for to the best of our ability.. Although Scamper is a fighter and was still fighting it today, we had to ended his painful suffering.. Makeing that choice because its what is best for the cat, is NEVER easy...
We love you Scamper.. and shall miss you something aweful...
