Alta May Jessie
1908-2005
Alta May Jessie, born Oct. 5 1908, in Elbert, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 27, after a long stay at Laurel Meadows Healthcare. As a small child, Alta traveled to New Mexico in a covered wagon. After her marriage in 1929, Alta and Bill lived in many countries including Spain and Africa. We will miss you dearly, Aunt Alta, the family wrote. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Clifford Ellis; husband, William A. Jessie; brothers, George Alfred Ellis and Samuel Jackson Ellis; and a niece, Glenda Peterson. She is survived by her sisters, Altha Dean Jones and Alma Eillen [sic] Andrews; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas, on Thursday, Oct. 6. Alta May will be buried with her husband, Bill.
