Johan " John" "J.C." Christian Anderson was born in Norderhov, Ringerike, Buskerud , Norway to parents Anders Christopherson and Berth Guldbrandsdatter. The family left Norway and came to Wisconsin in 1851 while John was still an infant. He had two brothers Lars "Lewis"Anderson and Christopher "Crist" Anderson and a sister Caroline Marie Anderson who later married Hans Carlson.
The family was one of the first settelers in the Green County area and were very much a part of building the local Town of York. All the brothers took part in city activities and governing. John was a Constable and a Justice of the Peace according to city records and other activities. the entire family farmed land in York not far the the old cemetery and present day Church and York Memorial Cemetery. It was a beautiful piece of rolling land with a stream running along side/through. John went to live in Minnesota for a time and then returned to York. He is said to have married but I have not yet found that information.
