Myron H. Paul, youngest child of William C. and Hannah Paul, was born in Hardin county Jan. 11, 1883. As a young boy he moved with his parents to Sac county. He attended Morningside college, after which time he returned to Odebolt where he was employed by the Mattes Hardware company for a number of years.

On June 27, 1906, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Mae Shatto. To this Union were born five children, all of whom survive. During 1914, Mr. Paul established the Model Market. Six years later, in 1920, he entered into partnership with David Larson in the heating and plumbing business, in which enterprise he was engaged at the time of his death. His death came as a severe shock as he had been working that morning, and was seemingly in good health. He had reached the age of 62 years and four months.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, two sons, Arloe of Cincinnati, Ohio; Navy Lt. Duane Paul of Falls Church, Va.; three daughters, Etoile of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Elizabeth Cranston and Mrs. Gladys Wright of Portland, Ore.; one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, and one brother, Charles of Wall Lake, in addition to numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in the Odebolt Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The beautiful flowers, and the many friends who attended the last rites, were a tribute to the deceased. The Rev. Paul R. Johnson, pastor of the Odebolt Methodist church, conducted the services. He was assisted by the Rev. John A. Farnham of Webster City, who was pastor of the local church from 1929 to 1936, and the Rev. Martin L. Tonner. The Masonic Lodge also conducted services in the church and at the cemetery, with Lawrence KuhI of Ida Grove in charge.

Casket bearers were eight nephews of the deceased, Milton Paul of Traer, Archie Paul of Lake Park, Veryl Paul of Sioux City, Walton Sargisson of Salix, James Scanlon, Marvin Sonksen and Verne Paul of Odebolt. Honorary pallbearers included Fred Gilbert, L.T. Quirk, A.W. Lewis, F.A. Frevert, Merle Sanders and Will Story. Interment was made in the Odebolt cemetery.
