Funeral services are being held at 2 o'clock this afternoon, September 14, 1950, at the Presbyterian Church for Charles A. Paul who died suddenly of a heart attack Monday afternoon, September 11, 1950.

At the time of his death, he was visiting a daughter, Mrs. Alden Fineran, at Correctionville. He was 83 years old.

The Rev. H.M. Burns of the Methodist church will officiate at the rites. Mrs. Warren Hanson and George Hilburn will sing, accompanied by Mrs. Jess Purdy. Pallbearers will be nephews. Interment will be in Odebolt Cemetery.

Mr. Paul was born October 9, 1867 in Platteville, Grant County, Wisconsin. He was the son of William C. and Hannah Paul. In 1870, the family moved to Hardin County, Iowa. They came to Sac County in 1883 and bought the farm now occupied by the Lyle Paul family.

On March 20, 1901, he was married to Sarah Emma Crawford, who died November 26, 1912.

Other relatives who preceded him in death are a sister, Ella (Mrs. Sargisson) and brothers, Allie J. and Myron H. Paul. Another brother died in infancy.

Those who survive are two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (lola) Wade of Wall Lake, Mrs. Alden (Myrtle) Fineran of Correctionville, three sons, Veryl of Sioux City, Lloyd of Tripp, South Dakota and Lyle of Odebolt. Nine grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Paul was a member of the Methodist Church and the Brotherhood. He was interested and active in church affairs. Until a year ago, he had enjoyed unusually good health. A heart attack at that time caused his family some concern, but he continued to visit at the homes of his children, making his principle residence at the Wade home at Wall Lake.
