MRS. GROVE KASSENS DIES

Mrs. Grove Kassens, 702 East Street, a resident of Emporia since 1922, died this morning in Newman Memorial County Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel. They will be conducted by the Rev. Allen Epp, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Kassens was the former Mina B. Anderson, daughter of Charles F. and Mary Ellen Burgoon Anderson. She was born September 25th, 1894, in Ottawa, and she was married on July 20th, 1914, in Alva, Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Kassens was preceded in death by her husband, who died August 7th, 1954, and she is survived by two sons, Wendell G., and Theron G., both of Lancaster, Texas; two daughters, Selma B. Smith, Ottawa, and Corinne K. Cooper, Joplin, Missouri; one brother, Bert Anderson, Ontario, Oregon; six sisters, Mattie Taylor Of Oklahoma; Myrtle Rodkey, Liberal; Gladys Padgett, Fowler; Opal DeGannaro, Cannonsburg, Pennsylvania, and Inez Lamb and Helen Stephanic, both of Eureka, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
