Killed in a mining accident at Mathies Mine, Thomas Portal on May 28, 1971. Son of the late Charles Matus, Sr.
Metro was a member of St. Mary's R.O. Church in Monongahela, PA. A Veteran of World War II, receiving the Purple Heart in the European Theater of Operations.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Lengyel Matus, his wife Marian Radus Matus, two children, Karen Louise Matus, Taylor, Brownfield, and son Metro, Jr., six brothers, and three sisters. Also surviving are four grandchildren.
