James E. Snyder, Attorney, Died Sunday James E. Snyder, age 66 years, attorney, of Harrisburg, died in a Harrisburg hospital on Sunday, an illness of several weeks. Mr. Snyder was a member of the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County Bar Associations, and had practiced law in Harrisburg and Elizabethville thirty years.
He was serving as president of the First National Bank, Elizabethville, and as a director of the Elizabethville Water Company at the time of his death. A son of the late Frank and Mary (Lenker) Snyder, he was born at Pillow January 3, 1893. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Pillow. Mr. Snyder was a member of the Ashlar Lodge of Masons, Lykens; the Harrisburg Consistory and Zembo Temple, Harrisburg.
He was also a past president and life member of the Lions Club of Lower Paxton Township and a member of the Colonial Country Club, Harrisburg. Mr. Snyder served with Company 314th Infantry in World War I. He was a past commander of the American Legion Post and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Pust, Elizabethville; and Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was chairman of the Selective Service Board No.
56 of Upper Dauphin County. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Gladys Buffington Snyder; four brothers, J. Raymond Snyder, Mt. Holly Springs; Thomas L.
Snyder, Pillow; Charles H. Snyder, Elizabethville, and Abram F. Snyder of Dushore, and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Fauber, Elizabethville, and Miss Margaret Snyder of Harrisburg. Services were held from the Buffington Funeral Home, Elizabethville, at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
Rev. C. L. Venable, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Harrisburg, assisted by Rev.
J. J. Weikel, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Pillow, officiated, and interment was made in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville..
