LoRetta Ford holt passed away January 30, 2013 at the Payson Mountain View Hospital at the age of 74,She was born October 21,1938 in Reno Nevada to Iona Hooks Ford and Layton Ernest Ford.
LoRetta grew up in Provo,Utah.She struggled with asthma from the time she was a child and contacted Rheumatic fever in the 7th grade that impacted her thoughout her life.She was blessed as a child because her cousins were all nearby.Family gatherings were plentiful.They enjoyed eating homemade ice cream and playing games together.As a teenager she had a jantzen sweater and thought she was pretty cool. She attented Joaquin Elementary, Farrer Junior High, and graduated from Provo High schooln in 1956

She married Delbert Eugene Holt on February 14,1957 at her aunt Gladys home in Provo, Utah Their marrage later solemnized in the Manti temple om December16, 1970. They established their first home in Seattle Washington. They lived there while her husband served in the U.S. Navy and they welcomed their first daughter into the family. Upon his release,They returned to Utah where their second daughter was born and where they have made their home for the last 54 years.
LoRetta was a seamstress her entire life. She loved sitting in front of her sewing machine.When she was not sewing she had her hands busy doing knitting or crocheting.Her love of crocheting began when her Grandma Hooks taught her how to crochet at a early age,And she has passed that talent on to her daughters,grandchildren,and great-grandchildren. She worked as a seamstress for many companies in Utah county.She won many awards for her crocheting and knitting at the Utah State Fair including a sweetstakes award for her daughter's high school graduation dress that she crocheted.
She loved the outdoors.hunting,fishing,and camping with her family.She spent many holidays,weekends,and vacations at the Hideout Ridge cabin enjoying nature.The wildflowers and birds always made her happy She always found joy in the simple pleasures in life.
LoRetta was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints serving in many callings thoughtout her life.
She is survived by her husband Delbert Holt; two daughters Sarah Ellen Rogers(dave)of Springville,Ut. and Anne Marie Gygi(mark) of spanish fork Ut. Four grandchildren,Shane Rogers(Katie),Karri Jenkins(nick), Angela Lanier(Jon),and Joseph Brady Jenkins(Aubrey): Ten great grandchildren: Two sisters Patricia Ferre(charles),Peggy Ann Kelsey(Dave) and one brotherJames Peterson
