Mr. Veal was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Robert Frank Veal and the late Belle Andrews Veal. He was a retired operator for Cypress Kaolin Company and a farmer. Mr. Veal was a member of the Deepstep United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Club.
Survivors are his wife, Peggy Sue B. Veal of Deepstep, a son, Howard Veal and his wife Carol of Deepstep, three grandchildren, Rebecca Veal of Macon, Crissy Lindsey of Riddleville and Carl Veal of Durham, N.C., two great granddaughters, Hannah Lindsey and Taylor Lindsey, two sisters, Jane Veal of Bogart and Hazel Byrd of Texas.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday. The family suggest donations be made to the Deepstep Methodist Church Men's Club, 9968 Deepstep Road, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
