Pete Fischer was born May 21, 1904 to Christian and Kathryn (Nieman) Fischer in Anoka, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Hulda Redlinger on August 26, 1926, in Clearfield, South Dakota. Following marriage, the couple farmed and ranched in Tripp County until 1969 when they retired to Winner. In 1990 they moved to Rapid City to the Westhills Village Retirement Community. Pete was a member of the Trinit y Lutheran church for many years and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rapid City.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hulda in September 1991; his parents, four brothers; four sisters; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

Surviving are three daughters, Violet (Ruben) Kaiser of Winner, Betty (Melvin) Drath of Houston, TX, and Joan (Frank) Taggart of Denver, CO one son, Vernon Fischer of Rapid City; one sister, Ella Butler of Mesa, AZ; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
