Mr. Lilie was a 1952 graduate of Saint Mary's Memorial High School in Ohio. He was a 1956 graduate of the Indiana Institute of Technology in Fort Wayne earning his bachelors degree. He was a 1967 graduate of Purdue University earning his masters degree in electrical engineering. He worked for 33 years as an electrical engineer at Magnavox, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Magnavox Quarter Century Club. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as a trustee. He served in the United States Army from 1954 - 1956. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren's activities. He enjoyed Western square dancing with several clubs across the country. He especially enjoyed traveling by RV across the country visiting all the contiguous United States except North Dakota. He wintered in Pharr, Texas. He enjoyed working with computers. He was an avid bridge player. Mr. Lilie was born on November 20, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa a son of Carl H. and V. Carmen Bailey Lilie. He was united in marriage to Kay Lynn Lilie. His wife survives. Additional survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Robert (Nanette) Isenbarger of New Haven; Mrs. Byron (Susan) Gallmeyer of Hoagland, IN; a stepson: Brad (Maureen Tighe) Welty of Huntington; a stepdaughter: Mrs. Michael (Kelly) Ferneau of Rockford, IL; a brother: Paul A. Lilie of Socorro, New Mexico; five grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
